Dear Family,
Well it sounds like a ton of you guys are all gathering around some table's to eat some really good food at uncle Dave's and aunt Anita's house! Sounds like a party!! Wish I could be there but I'm where I need and should be. So this week was a great week! No I didn't eat anything weird or go anywhere. I didn't even get transferred!! Me and Elder Bayles were pretty excited that we didn't get transferred. So instead of taking a 5 hour drive to Cauayan we just stayed here and worked, which was good. So the Philippines don't really like the "rich people" in town and they never open their mouth when someone is "rich". So me and elder bayles decided that we should go and talk to all the rich people that we could find so we walked around to all the cement houses and talked to as many people who would let us in their house. That was my first time going house to house to people and trying to get into their house to teach them our message. We ll we ended up getting the door shut gently on our face and one lady was actually laying on her couch and sat up and looked at us and said "there is no one here". Haha! It was so funny. Me and Elder Bayles just looked at each other and said "well okay"... haha it was so funny. We got into a few peoples houses and got a few new investigators out of it. We were desperate for some new people to teach and we have been praying to figure out a way for some new people to teach. It seems like just singling out the "rich" people is a rude thing to do, but to be honest they make the best members. They pay the tithing, come to church every week and they are way nice to the other members. So we felt guided to tract that class of people. We got a few referrals yesterday and one of them was a family of four. The kids are ages one and three, two boys. The family lives in a run down restaurant and they run a small motor trade business out of it. We started teaching them and they seemed to be listening until they put their kids down and they went crazy! They were ridding bikes everywhere and being so noisy. Satan really didn't want us to teach them. One of the little kids even squatted down and went poop on the floor in front of us!! Yeah that was pretty nasty! But we just continued on teaching! At the end of the lesson the sister even prayed! It was such a good lesson. We both feel that they will be baptized in the future. I'm grateful for the member's that care enough about the gospel to give us referrals to their closest friends. Without referrals our work would be nothing. So I heard that elder hales had to speak in front of everyone in transfer meeting. It was in English so the natives didn't really understand, but they said that he asked if anyone knew me and they said that they did! And he was pretty excited to know that haha. I'm excited to see him. I don't know if that will be anytime soon but who knows. So the Philippines is in a huge drought. It's called a el ninyo. It means that there isn't going to be rain until June or July. The elders in one zone don't even have water at their house to wash clothes. They have to go to a river and wash. How they shower I have no idea,. I'm just glad that I'm in the mountains and we have what little run off there is. It has been overcast this week and it sprinkled a little bit but not enough to have an effect on the ground. We have zone conference this week on Wednesday so that means I'll be getting up at 2am Wednesday so I can get to Cauayan on time for the 9am meeting. It's going to be a long day but I'm looking forward to go listen to our president give us some advice on finding people and being better missionaries. I don't know if y have ant packages but its possible that i will have them on Wednesday, so ill let you know next week if i get it. I love you guys! Tell everyone I say hello!!!!

Wow, what a week! So Monday started the week off with a good pday. We had to go to Solano and get our support so we ate at this place called mang innasal and they give you an ulam(rice topping) and unlimited rice. I got excited when I saw the unlimited rice sign let alone the pork BBQ that they have :). And then on Wednesday night guess what I ate!!!!!!!!?????? Yes, your wrong! It was balut!! I totally ate a duck embryo haha! It was actually pretty good! The juice in the egg tastes like chicken broth and the egg part is just like a hard boiled egg and then the duck really had no taste. It's just the thought that is going through your head while eating it. Don't worry... I filmed it. So when I get a chance to make a CD I'll put that video of me and Elder Bayles eating it! You'll laugh! They are pretty funny. So Saturday was a bummer because we didn't get that chance to work all that much because Elder Bayles had a bunch of baptism interviews for the other missionary's around here. Sunday we fasted and it was a good fast. Then today we totally went down to sta. fae. It's a town in our area and it was like the prettiest place I have ever seen. We went to a place called imugan falls! It was sweet!!! Look it up on google and there should be some pictures there. I took like 60 so you'll see what I'm talking about when I get into a place that can transfer my pics to a CD. We were thinking on the way home that we are only allowed to work in the town Aritao and the other closer towns that we have I would say are about 3/4's of our area, we aren't allowed to tract in because its just so far. So we really have only been in the close places but on pday we go out to the other places and got see the area. Today was a great day to do so because it was so pretty. I got some great shots of the area! I'm excited for you all to see. The past 6 weeks have gone way too fast! We have transfers on Thursday and I hope that I don't get transferred, but i doubt i will. That's great that you guys went and saw Elder Bayles' mom. She sent him some candy from cabellas and its soooo good haha:) Well the work is going a bit slow because of the last elders that were here so we are fixing the area. It seems like sometimes we are opening the area but we are slowly getting things back together. I love the work and the people! This gospel is so wonderful and the joy that it brings to the life of the people of the Philippines. I love you all my family! Thanks for the pics and emails this week... I laughed at them. Keep sending them for us, elder Bayles likes to see our family and pictures because he says that his family doesn't send any haha. So every once and a while send some new ones (via email). I hope it warms up over there and cools down here (even though that wont happen for months). Well I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Family!
So this week has been pretty good. We did go on the splits. The elder is still here but transfers is coming up and I don't know if he will get sent home. Then I went on splits with the zone leaders and it was great! I gave someone a baptism date and it was just a good feeling. The family that we are teaching came to district conference yesterday and it was great. I think that they will be great members. The elders in my old area told me that they are baptizing everyone that I taught and they are doing well, so that's some great news! Elder Bayles says that you (mom) should go over to the lehi roller mills in the office and talk with his mom (Linda) like next week. So you should do that lol. I'm going on splits with Elder Balaich this week!! I'm way excited to get to work with him. It will be just like the MTC again. haha plus I think that he is ready for a break from crappy companions. He has had kind of a hard time with his comps. they have all been way disobedient so I think that he is more excited then I am. Almost all of the people that I came in with from the MTC are in my zone. It's way cool! It's like a party whenever we see each other. We taught a guy from England and he has lived here for most of his life. The lesson went pretty well and we are going back to teach him this week. I don't know if he is that interested but well see. We have a few solid investigators but they just don't have the solid testimony that we would like them to have. We are working on them so we can give them a date and help them enter into the fold. Me and Elder Bayles were talking yesterday and we looked at the date and the cycle ends on the 11th of this month!! I hope that no one get transferred but I think that I will because he just got made district leader. I hope that we stay comps. for a while! That would be so sweet! Tell Kyle congrats for me! Thats sweet and I'm so happy for him! So the package, if your able to send the/an ipod send it full of church and Disney songs if possible. That would be really cool. Plus a charger so i can charge it. Also some shoe insoles for my shoes, a small role of duct tape if possible, a variety of oatmeal would be very pleasing to my stomach haha and if you see anything that would be cool to have i guess haha i dunno. Let me know what you send so I know what to look for. I love you all and I pray for you everyday. I'm getting way better in the language, not fluent, but I can communicate with everyone. I have a lot more confidence to talk and I'm feeling more comfortable with the language. But I'm still learning of course. Well that's all for now folks! I love you!!!

Well hello!
This week has been really great! We had interviews with the president, went to MacDonald's AND I got a 3 musketeers bar! It was pretty much the perfect day. We gave 4 of our investigators a baptismal date yesterday for the 27 of march. I hope that they will continue to come to church and continue to listen and keep our commitments we have give them. Uunfortunately we might end up dropping one of our investigators because her and her husband need to get married and they want to get married in our church, but they don't have a birth certificate. And they wont come to church because of her father. He cant be left alone for any time because he is paralyzed and her husband wont watch him while she goes to church. So we will probably drop them and try to teach them in another time. Maybe they aren't ready to receive the gospel yet, but they will in time. So I guess one of the elders in my district is having a way hard time with his companion and something bad happened with them last night but I don't know what yet. We got a call about 11:00 last night and it was our zone leaders and they said that I needed to pack my bags for 4-5 days and we will be going on splits for a while. The elder that's having problem will be coming to our area and I'll be going over there, which is fine because its way pretty over there its a place called dupax del sur. But I think that the American elder might be getting sent home or his choice. I'll find out about 4 this afternoon. So I tired to withdrawal some money last week at one of the ATM's and it said that my account was locked, but when i looked just barley it was fine so maybe the ATM was just retarded. Me and Elder Bayles have been working our bums off trying to find some good people to teach and to re-activate some branch members. We do the home teaching, the missionary work and we are the Secretary branch clerk(unofficially haha). So with the next package you send I have a request or two but no rushes on the package. I could use some good shoe insoles for my shoes. And you mentioned at Christmas if I would like you to send me an ipod, well if dad will let me use his little blue shuffle that would be perfect just load it with as much church songs and Disney music as you can and then the charger of course so i can charge it. And some treats as well. So how was Kenny's and Jerah's wedding?? Did you get any pics? If so send them my way. Well that's my report on this week! I love you all and I hope that your all doing well as always!

Happy valentines to everyone back at home!
They have valentines day here but it's not really a celebrated day. It was also my comps b-day this weekend and we held a missionary fireside to help out the members with finding people for the gospel. It went really well. I was scared that we were going to do a terrible job but it went really well. I think that we will have a ton more referrals coming in, it should be great. So they announced the name of our new mission pres here! His name is pres. Carlos. He is from South Dakota! I'm excited to have an American president but I'm going to miss pres. Villanueva very much. He is such a nice person and one of the most loving people I have ever met along with his wife. She is just like a mom for all us missionaries and we are really lucky to have them here. So this week has been pretty normal as far as the work goes. It is definitely summer here! The sun is way hot during the day. The mornings here are cold though that I could see my breath this morning! It was awesome. I was way happy because it's so hot. I'm loving being a missionary. I cant tell you enough how awesome and joyful this really is. Even though at times I miss home and I miss the little things in life, I would have to say that I would put this first for sure. My testimony is growing and so is my love for other people. I love the language and the culture. The people here are so nice and giving and they have a love for the gospel. One ward member didn't have money to get a ride to the church yesterday so her and her family got up at 5am and walked 3.5 hours to get to church on time! That showed me her love for the gospel and her love to come to church and keep the commandments. She is a great example to the ward and to the lord and to all of us! My testimony has grown from that experience. I'm glad that the doctors have figured out whats going on with grandma. I know that she will continue to improve if we keep her in our prayers. Keep me posted on her. We had a dinner appointment last night at this one family that lives right up the street from us and every time we eat there I feel like I'm going to pop after eating. The food is sooooo good! haha me and elder bayles have been doing really well together and we are both happy. Its so much better when a companionship gets along. It shows in the work and in our message to the people. We have one family that we just found, the fontiveras family, and they seem to have accepted the message in our first visit. We are going back to them twice this week and I hope we can get them to church on Sunday so they can feel the spirit that you only feel by going to church. Well that's all for this week! I hope your week goes great and that you all are safe. I love and miss you all.

Family,
Well its been a great first week here in Aritao and I'm loving the work, the area, the branch and the people. The sun is getting more and more intense because the summer is on the rise, its getting way too hot haha . Good thing I'm down here in the coldest part of the mission and not up in the hottest part of the whole country in the northern part of the mission. This week we ran into a guy that speaks way good English and worked in America for like 15 years or something. His name is Ezequiel like the prophet and he is really interested in the gospel. We have taught him twice now and he says he knows its true he just isn't ready to go to church. So well go back to him on Tuesday to teach him a little bit more. I have realized one thing this week in the fact of being obedient, 100% obedient and how important it really is. Even the little rules that we have as missionaries, and sad to say I have been breaking one rule that I think is effecting the way my language learning is going and that's the emailing rule. We are only supposed to reply to emails to our family and I have been replying to whoever emails me. Well president really stressed this in our zone conference last week so I decided that I need to start following the rules with exactness. So from now on the only people that I'll reply to will be you from the family (mom, dad, and the sisters). This is something that I have realized that I need to follow and I'm going to start doing it today. Your more that welcome to email me and let me know how you are doing but I cant reply. I know that I shouldn't have been doing it in the past but its the little rules that are important so I know I'll be blessed in this decision. It may be hard but I can do it. Me and my comp. are doing great and loving the work. We are working hard everyday! We get up early and, come home tired. The life of a missionary is wonderful and I'm loving it so much. So I'm way out of time and i'll get back to you next week. I love you all and I cant wait to talk to you next week.

Hey family,
So I'm finally back into the mission and I'm doing sooo much better! I still have a little headache but that should go away soon they say. I left the MRC at 5:00pm and waited at the MTC for a little while, ate dinner there, then headed over to the bus station and got on a bus to head to Cauayan. I got no sleep which kinda stunk but it's okay. At 5:30am we got to the mission home and the new missionaries had orientation meeting. I then found out that I was being transferred and panicked because I needed all my stuff. Well come to find out the zone leaders did my "packing" for me so they say. I walked into the room and almost everything I own was in a giant plastic bag. That was quite the site. But after a few folding jobs and shoving everything into my suitcases I got it all in there. Then we had transfer meeting and I got a new comp. He is from lehi and is way funny and a hard worker. We are going to be a great companionship! My area is called Aritao. It's the most southern part of the mission, and the farthest away from the mission home. 4 to 4 and a half hours. So that day I was on a bus for 15:30! Long time haha. But it's all good. My area is so pretty! Imagine being at like strawberry lake and the temp is warmer and there is palm trees everywhere. There is no lake here but the surroundings are a ton like in Utah! We even have a McDonald's in our zone, so when we have district meeting we will eat there! The people here are way nice and very humble! I'm in a branch, but we have a church to meet in. Usually its just a meeting house. I'm so excited to serve here. So in manila while I wasn't at the hospital we were either inside or at the temple! I got to go through a session 3 times and it was great. The couple that's in charge let us watch a few of the church related movies and then for F.H.E we watched the fiddler on the roof, which is a hilarious show, and then we had a delicious chocolate cake. I went to burger king once while I was down there and one night they got us some pizza hut. So my companions name is Elder Bayles. He lives in lehi and he played soccer for the UVU team. He knows a ton of my friends from high school which is crazy. We are getting along really great. So some random facts about him... his mom is the receptionist at the lehi mills. He used to work there and packed flour, and now his little brother just got his old job. He is the oldest in his family and has a really deep voice. We got haircuts today so now we are the only two American people for hours and we look the same! It's pretty funny. So I got your package and yes was I happy to see it. We ate the oreos and goldfish already which is unfortunate but I'll live (maybe). I put grandmas name on the prayer list in the temple and of course she is in my prayers along with the whole family, but I hope that she will get better soon. Well that's all I have to say this week. I love you all and hope your doing great. I guess they are changing the way missionaries do emails so I will be getting a new email soon, but I'll let you know when that happens. Thanks again!

So I'm still I'm manila but I believe I will be leaving in the next couple of days. I went over to a doctor that had me get a CT scan to make sure nothing serious was going on in my head. And in the mean time she gave me some muscle relaxants and the lowest dosage of pain killer that she had. I have taken that for 5 days and the headache seems to be smaller so that's good, but I have really tight shoulder muscles so she switched my medication for the relaxant and I will take that for 5 days and if that doesn't work I'll have to do some kind of physical therapy. I should be out of here tomorrow or the next day. Being in Manila has defiantly been an experience. The hospital is in someways nicer then America and others its not. The main building is defiantly nicer, but the other two towers are not as nice, but still way better then anything in my mission. I have been feed like a king for the past few days as well, which has been nice to get some great food. There is a lady that cooks for us in the MRC and funny enough her name is divine and she can cook up some mean meals. I'm pretty sure I have gained some weight while i have been here. I also got to go to the biggest chapel in the Philippines on Sunday. It is HUGE! To give you an idea, it's like a mini hotel, multi story, and the chapel is like American sized. It's giant. I was also able to go to a fabric store and by some tela for pants. I got 4 pairs of very nice fabric that would have cost me the price of one in my area so I was very happy to that. We had a mini family home evening last night and we watched the Fiddler on the Roof. It's such a funny movie! I wasn't sure if it was okay to watch, but the couple missionaries approved it and said it was okay so we watched it and then ate a huge slice of chocolate cake:). Yes that was my favorite part. We do have transfers this week but I'm not sure who will get transferred. It could be either of us. Well I don't have much time to email being that the MRC doesn't have a p-day so I'll talk to you all next week. I love you!! Have a great week

Well the area medical advisor decided to have me come down to manila for a couple of days and I have been here for a little over a day. It really is a great place for a sick missionary to be. Well if your not contagious to anything. I have had the opportunity to go to the manila temple and do a session, which I was so grateful for. I have forgotten how great the temple really is and how wonderful I always feel when I go in. Today I went to St Luke's hospital and I had a couple of appointments, still no results or guesses. My first one was At a doctor who gives an overall view on you sickness, then he determines where you go. He thought that I might have an infection in my ear. So I went to the Ear Throat and Mouth doc. He shoved a little camera in my nose into my sinuses, yeah that didn't feel to great ha ha, then it went into my throat and then into my ear, I don't have an infection that he saw so I will be returning to the docs hopefully tomorrow to see a neurologist or however you spell it. I know I'm in good hands and I'm going to be fine in a few days. It will just take a few appointments to get the problem solved and then get me on a medication. So enough with the medical stuff. Being here in the MRC is great! I feel like I'm in America in manila. We went to a BURGER KING today and I ate a giant BBQ burger is was so good! Then I went and got a hymn book and now I'm back at the MRC and the missionary couple here are having me email you to let you know how I am. I still have a headache but well see whats happening tomorrow. I love you all!

So this week has kinda been a bust as far as working goes. We had splits and there was a huge confusion on who was supposed to go where when the splits were over and we just ended up playing cat and mouse the whole day. We finally ended up in bnito soluvin at one of the members house and then the elders we were on splits with were mad at my comp. because he didn't tell them the right info. So they started fighting and yelling. So I was just sitting there waiting for the hissy fit to be over, and this old lady asked where we were going and told here to baligatan and she said well there goes the last jeepney for the night to baligatan. So I ran out in the street and whistled as loud as I could and the driver slammed on his brakes and baked up to where we where, so in the meantime my comp. and the other elders were still fighting, so i decided that somebody over 4 years old had to take charge. So I grabbed my comp. and made him get in the jeepney so we could go home for the night because its about a 1 hour drive so he was mad at me for stopping the yelling and didn't talk to me the whole ride home. When we got home I asked him what the problem was and he told me so I just said that fighting is no way to solve anything, especially in front of a member, so he was like well i don't even feel the spirit anymore so we didn't go work. He was still made and being a boob so I was like I'm sick of this were going to jollibees and I'll pay for you. So then he was all happy and glad, so that's one way I guess. Not the most common way but I guess it worked. Then the next day I went to the hospital and we didn't work that day because my body was just not its self so then the next day I got your package!:) And then we had weekly planning and then we went back to the hospital to get Xrays on my head. So now I'm just waiting to see what Dr chaffin/ elder chaffin has to say about my head. I don't know what it could be but I hope that something can be found because this is becoming a big stress on my body. I just have to keep pressing on. How was your guys week? I have been praying for g-ma and her health that it will get better. I hope that the doctors can help her. I love you all and I hope that you have an excellent week.

So I went to the hospital and got my blood tested and my ears and throat, and it turns out that I have tonsillitis and I'm allergic to something in the air here. So the tonsillitis is the reason why I have had a bloody nose and ear so they gave me an antibiotic prescription and one for the allergic. I have to take the tonsil medicine for a week and then I'm supposed to take the allergic stuff until February but the problem is they don't have any right now so ill have to wait. So I'll start taking the tonsil medication tomorrow and then well see what happens. So I'll talk to you on Monday but that's just a quick email about what happened.

Hey family,
So this week was a pretty good week. One of our investigators who was supposed to be baptised on the 16th is no longer going to be because of some of his past experiences with things and we have to wait for our mission president to interview him. After that, he will give him a date and that's that. I don't think that we will have any baptisms this cycle because we are doing a harvest which means we are teaching and finding people that want to become members but they just aren't ready for it. Well I haven't git the package that you sent to me yet but I might get it on Tuesday when we have our zone meeting, but I don't really know, so well see. I hope I do because I really miss chocolate cake lol. So when you send that package don't forget to throw some black socks in it, and maybe some deodorant not the old spice though because that gives my pits a rash for some reason and maybe a big bottle of ibuprofen. So anyway this week has been good over all. On the 8th we went over to this place called Annesephs and had a pizza. It was me and my comp., and bro Mata who works with us a ton and is a really good help to us, and then Hannah Faye, a recent convert of ours back when i first got here, we didn't sing but we had a good time so that's what i did. Tonight we are going over to the Dacuycuy family and having dinner over there. They usually have some great food so of course I'm excited. So speaking of food I have come to find out that I have eaten some pretty nasty food. It's called dinugoan, its pigs blood and pork and its baked and looks like a ball of dirt. Lucky for me I didn't understand what they were saying to my companion when I put it on my plate. All they asked me is if I liked that stuff and I said "I dunno but I'll find out". It was really good though! So after we ate and went home he told me and I was like that's nasty!!! And I couldn't believe that I had eaten that haha. So on Tuesday I'm going to talk to my mission pres. wife about my health. I have had a constant headache for about a month now. I thought it might be the heat but it was fairly cold here a little while ago and there was no change. Then I was cleaning out my ear and there was some blood coming from my right ear, not a ton but still some blood. Then Saturday my tonsils were swollen and it was pretty hard to swallow anything for a couple days. And then I saw some big red bumps on the back of my throat, and last night i had a bloody nose. So I might be going to the hospital to get a check up this week. Don't worry, I'm still going out everyday and working and I'm able to do everything a missionary does I'll let you know how it goes if I end up going. Well that's my report for this week. I hope your all doing great! Peyton is really getting so big! Dang.

Dear Family,
So the new years was a pretty sleepless night. We had to be in at 7:00 pm and we just sat in the house all night. Here in the Philippines it is way different than how we celebrate the New Year. People actually throw fireworks and each other and they have fireworks going off ALL night HaHa!! I guess its really not funny but now that I look back on it, it kinda was.
So around 1 am our neighbors came up and pounded on our door and yelled at us to come down and eat with them. Well I wasn't in any objection to doing that so we went down and ate and then finally came home got some rest.
We have been having a ton of dinner appointments lately and I have been eating a ton because so far I have liked all that has been served to me.(I know I am as shocked as you are).
So this morning I woke up face to face with a giant spider, bigger than the one that you saw in the pictures I sent home. Well all I can say is that he was the first thing I saw and the last thing he saw was a stream of alcohol and a flaming match coming at his face!! Yes one more pyro act on my part and yes I have to say that I did enjoy it Heehee!
So this week we may have had some great food but our work was the worst! We only had like 11 lessons, it was terrible and we got punted from so many appointments it wasn't good. Then me and my companion got in a fight, we are not getting along very well and i know that its affecting our work. I am trying my best to seek inspiration and to find things that we have in common but its pretty tough. Patience is playing a big role in my life right now and I am glad to say that today it has been good so far and I hope it continues to get better with each day.

Dear Family,
Well it was great to get to talk to all of you finally and to talk to you about my mission and what has been happening to me and what has been going on at home. I can’t believe that this year has pretty much just come and gone especially the last 5 months! I can’t put it into words what its like to be teaching the gospel, to people I don’t know, in a language that I don’t quite understand. It's simply amazing. Some lessons I worry about what I will say and if I'm even saying it right. Then there are lessons where I have no idea what I even said and my companion tells me that I don’t teach what I know about the gospel, I let the spirit do it. Well if that’s true I don’t know, but I do know now, and will never forget how important the spirit is in our lives. We have a guide, a compass, a friend, and most of all something that we are always conscious about. As a missionary it’s a lot easier to feel when the spirit is in the lesson or if its not, and if its not there is no point in teaching. That’s something that our mission president really stresses to us, is that we have the spirit. So I'm always on the look out for if I have it or not. It's very easy to lose that spirit here. There are so many distractions and things that can take away from the work, but I do my best to stay focused, and the lord makes up for the rest. So this morning I washed a ton of clothes that my finger's actually started to bleed. But soon it will turn into a caulis… I hope lol. So then we went up to our church and the ward was having a sports fest with the youth so I played some basketball, and some table tennis, and then we went and ate at a calinderia which is just a place where you go and choose a ulam for your rice( a topping like chicken) and then you go sit down and eat. I had the chicken curry which is really good! Then we came back to our area and I got a haircut, and now I'm emailing, later we are going to go teach an investigator and then contact a referral, so hopefully we will get a new investigator tonight. Speaking of new investigators there is a few Americans that live here and we ran into one that lives in our area and I started talking to him and he and his wife are from Boston. He told us to come over to his house around Christmas time so we went over last night and got talking about the Philippines and the states. His wife is a Filipino, but is from Boston, I told him that I have a friend serving there and he said that he lives about 40 miles away. I cant remember the name of the city but its close to Boston. Then we talked about his life in the military! He was a general for the Air Force and is about to retire form some school board. He comes and goes but he is planning on moving here for good. So then I asked what his religious background was and what he believed about god. He believes that our heavenly father, Jesus Christ, and the holy ghost are three separate beings and that he is a Lutheran. I shared a little bit about the first lesson and asked if we could come back. He said that would be great and that he wanted a book of Mormon for here. He mentioned that he had one in the states and that he reads it from time to time, so we will go back to him sometime and see if we can get him to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, I hope that he will. I feel like he has some potential so we will see. So it wasn’t me trying to call on Christmas, it might have been our land lord who was trying to call, I don’t know what he would want to call for but who knows. So that’s my week and it was great. We had some fun this week and it was a lot better this week then last so I hope that it will get better and better. So it sounds like you all had a great Christmas and that it was fun for Peyton! What did everyone get?? I hope that your not getting to cold over there and your all being safe! I love you all!!! I can’t wait till mothers day! (When is that by the way ha ha) I love you again. Dear family!
So I guess I need to apologize for opening my Christmas packages early (I am sorry). The assistants to the president brought them over and within the following couple of days I had to be preparing to pack if I got transferred. Which is probably the reason they brought the packages over when they did. So I had to open them so that I could situate everything in my suitcase. I am sorry for opening them early, but it had to be done! But again thanks to all who sent me something! It was great fun even though it was early.(and still is)
So we had our baptism on Saturday and we ended up baptizing 4 people. It was so amazing to play a part in all of it. There should have been 5 but something happened to one of our investigators and she ended up not showing up. Tonight we are going over to check it out and I hope that she still has a desire to be baptized.
So transfers came and I didn't get transferred, but Elder Hanks did. My new companion is a Filipino and his name is Elder Alcoy. So its going to be good that i have a Filipino comp to learn the language better. But I have to say that I do miss having an American haha, it's just so different. Wish me luck and pray for us both. We had a ward Christmas party on Saturday and it was fun to go and watch all the kids have a good time with there activities and games. A lady that owns a really good restaurant brought some spaghetti over and it was sooooo good! Then this other lady had some cheese flavored ice cream, home made. Its not exactly what you would call ice cream lol, but it was still good.
So i should be calling from a cell phone and the time you suggested is perfect to call and I will call around 11:30 and talk to all of you! (Oh I can't wait) It doesn't really seem like its Christmas to me because I am not with all of you. Also its like a billion degrees here and I wish I could see snow lol!!! Still as hot as it is everyone says that they are cold and they all have jackets on. All the American missionaries are still sweating and dying of heat. At night I use a fan and my companion thinks I am a nut case. Its funny to see his face as he shakes his head as I stand in front of the fan to cool off.
So the annual Polar Express night was Sunday night? It looks like you all were having a good time from the picture! Hey Happy Birthday Dad!!!!!!! I hope you have a great day! I cant wait to call on Friday!!! I hope you all have a great week! I love you all very much! We will talk soon!!!!

Well all I can say for myself is WOW!!!! 133.56 ounces of peanut m&m’s, 14 boxes of mac and cheese and a grand assortment of tasty treats!!! Yes the smile on my face is gigantic! I hope that the treats last me at least two weeks or more!!!! JK - Thank you all so much for the packages and especially to all who wrote me letters, that was my favorite part!! Tyler’s and Ashley’s made me laugh pretty hard I am still laughing about some funny cartoons and humor they sent to me. Thank you all so much for taking the time to write me, it really means a lot.
OK so the One thing that I really need is the time zone difference so I can know when to call. I really have no idea what it is so please try to figure something out with that.
Well this week went by really fast its most likely my last week with Elder Hanks which is sad because we have had some great times and so many funny times together. We have a few elders coming in from Utah. I know that one is from Lindon, his name is Elder Ellis. (So close to Home!)
This week I Had to get my suit pants let out. Yep, I have gotten a little rice belly going on and I just stand in front of the mirror and look at myself in disgust, haha just kidding its not that bad its just funny.
Finally there has been a few more people put up Christmas lights and little kids go around caroling for money. Its really sad when they come up to us and ask us for money because we aren’t allowed to give them any. We say we don’t have any money which is awkward when we have just walked out of the local drug store or market that we have clearly spent money in.
I was able to watch the Christmas devotional last night in our stake center and it was great and the music was awesome! All the talks were great and I especially liked Pres. Monsons talk it was my favorite. (can you believe this is me saying these words to you?) My mission has really changed me!
The language is slowly coming along and I think it would help if I had a Filipino companion but I am doing okay.
That’s good news that there is finally some snow on the ground. The people here think that our weather is cold and everyone is wearing jackets and stuff. We walk into their house sweating to death and its really funny when they look at us sweat while they freeze. They ask us what snow is and what it feels like and what do you do with it. Oddly its hard to explain snow to someone who has never seen it before but we try to do the best we can.
That’s crazy that we have 7 missionaries out from our ward. Are there anymore planning on going out anytime soon or are we done for a little while?
Its funny that you mentioned Grandma Jeffery because I have been thinking when the last time I saw her was and it has been a while. Be sure to take pictures of her and send them my way. Also send pictures of the snow and Peyton building the first snowman of the year.
I hope that everyone is doing well and that your all having a great time do what ever it is that you do each day. I am loving it here and there is nowhere else I would rather be! Yes I do miss the little things and all of you very much! But I know that there are people that need what we have and with the Lords help, me and my companion can give them that. It has been hard, but my life has changed so much in the past year I cant even explain it. This gospel is the only way to have true happiness and joy.

Hello!
So I just got your email all typed up and I pushed the send button and there was something wrong with the page and it got lost! So here I am typing it again.
So this past week has been great. We have 4 baptisms coming up and also transfers. On the 17th is our transfer day and on the 19th we have 3 of our baptisms and then next week we have one more baptism scheduled. It's a great week ahead.
We have been keeping busy which is always good. We went over to a families house for dinner for the moms birthday and had some great food and some pie called buko pie. All I can say is that it was so good!!! You can only get this pie in the southern part of our mission for some reason. It was made of coconut it’s kind of like a pudding but its way good. We don’t really get any dinner appointments anymore I dunno why but I wish they would invite us over more haha.
Christmas here isn’t anything like at home. There are only a few people who even have fake trees, which are little, and then a few have lights on their house. It's really going to be weird with no snow and no family! At least I get to talk to you guys! I’m really excited for that. Whats the time difference there? I have no idea what time it is when I email you. So if you could look that up on the Internet or something and let me know that would help out a lot. I can call on Christmas or Christmas Eve if that would be better? I don't know which would work better for you. That’s awesome that Peyton wasn’t afraid to go see Santa! I bet if she is really good she will get the real cup cake maker she asked for, but only if she is really really good!!! I cant believe how big she is in that picture you sent! Dang she is getting tall. So Dad you finally got released out of the scouts! Now you can get called to a counselor in the bishopric! That’s my guess anyways. It sound like the ward activity was fun and can anyone tell me what kind of food you had?
How is everyone doing and what’s everyone been up to? How are the Davies and Hemenways doing? Hows Chase, Carson and Caden doing? Let me know about everyone who live around us and what's going on back home.

Hey Hey!
well today was the most astig(cool) pday ever! We went down to the southern part of our districts area and we went to a crocodile farm! It was sweet. I guess the filipinocrocodile is really rare and they pretty much raise them on the farm and release them back into the wild. Well any who i got to hold about a 15 month old croc! Wow it was sweet and it was hissing at me while I was holding it. I did get a few pictures of it so you'll just have to wait and see them when I send home the CD. So after that we went to this river that was close by the farm. Amazingly it was blue, like clear blue, and it's the only place in the Philippines that the water is like that. We hiked around there for a while and then we heard some helicopters coming around the corner and the 2 helicopters landed pretty close to where we were hiking. So we went over and talked to the guys and i guess it was the Philippine Air Force. I did get some sweet pictures of us right by it and by the outside turret gun thing. Wow it was Sweet! So that was the highlight of the my week as far as the adventuring goes.
It was a really fast week and I have to say that I really miss having turkey!!! I also miss being around the table during dinner with all you guys! I think Christmas is going to be a weird one for me, but we get to talk!
I am glad the the party for grandpa's 80th birthday was a success and that it all went well. I bet is was great to see everyone and for grandpa to see all his friends.
So as far as the pictures go, I will be sending home a CD with all the pictures I have taken so far on it. My companion said it wouldn't be a good idea to send home my camera card because the envelope would have a really good chance of getting opened. He got a letter in the mail a while ago and we could tell that it had been opened and looked through and the person who opened it just put a little tape on the seal. I hope I can fit a CD in the bubble package you sent. I also saw the family picture that Paige sent and i laughed when i saw the blown up picture of me. I have to say that it looks a little funny and please tell me that Peyton is standing on something and that mom isn't getting shorter!!!! Wow Peyton has gotten huge in the past 4 months! I can hardly believe it!
It's almost December and I cant believe how fast this year has gone! It crazy. What have the girls been up to? Has Morgan been able to take her exam yet for school? Hey Paige, that's pretty crazy that you found a dead dude at work! How was that?

Hey,Hey!
so here are a couple of pictures, i hope that they are okay and the quality isn't to bad. One of them is with me and the sign for the golf course and the other one is the baptism that we just had on Saturday. The mans name is Dominidor Gasper and he is in the army transporting people to different places depending on where they need to go. So to answer your questions... the area is packed with people and there are lots of cars!!!! The pollution is pretty bad at times and its really noisy. The peoples homes vary in size and they are all made differently. Cement is about the only thing used for the floors, the walls,and well everything. If its not cement its some kind of a wooden thing that I'm not sure what they call it. Bamboo and then some kind of woven straw for the roof. If the house has tile that means that the people are fairly well off and there are some really really nice houses here its really amazing to see a little tiny house next to a huge House that has its own compound. The People do a lot of different jobs here for income. Some just drive people around all day, some dentists, doctors, teachers, babysitters. Its about the same as in America but the pay scale is really different. If a person is making about 5000 pesos a week that's really good. Some of the people are nice to the Americans and others are not so nice. It's funny most people are scared of us so we don't really have any problems. Well except I got shot in the head by some kids air soft gun while he was driving by (it didn't really hurt but we felt like scaring the taé out of him)!! So we ran after the tricycle and when we got to the house that it was parked at my companion talked to the parents and then the kid came out and he about fainted when he saw that it was us! Oh it was really funny and then the parent yelled at the kid and he got busted! My companion was laughing so hard and I thought it was pretty funny as well. So back to the questions you have asked... no one asks about our name tags unless we are having a conversation with them. The girls all think that we are very handsome (they are correct) and sometimes they take it a little to far and say some really bad stuff to us. (would make you blush Mom). Then there are other times the older ladies tell us "maganda ang mga mata mo" which means your eyes are beautiful.... awkward!!!! We just smile and leave haha.
So it finally has been raining and cooled down a little bit so that's great news. Lets see.... this week has gone by really fast its crazy I have been in Ilagan for 2 months tomorrow and 4 months yesterday since my mission began. Wow time has been flying and I really am glad I am here.
I got and email from Blair and he said the Ty has been out for 6 months - that seems crazy!
So our baptism went great and all was well. We have 2 more for the 12th of December and we should have 2 more for about the same time. We will give them a baptismal date this week and I am very happy for them all.
